We are Anne Murphy and Don Wackerly, and we lead Empowered Fundraiser Consulting. We specialize in campaign counsel for third spaces.
Our facilities projects include the Holcomb Center for Veterans, the Linus Pauling Science Center at Oregon State University, The Arts Center of the Mid-Willamette Valley, the Osborn Aquatic Center, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park project, among others.
After decades centered on STEM research and education, we now focus intentionally on third spaces: arts centers, libraries, parks, recreation facilities, discovery centers, and other places people depend on beyond home and work.

We also co-founded MOXXEE, relationship-based fundraising software built by fundraisers for fundraisers. We built it because fundraising runs on relationships while most CRMs run on transactions, and because better fundraising intelligence should not require more surveillance.
Together, we also built our own third space. She Leads AI is a global organization advancing responsible AI practices and shaping how AI is deployed around the world, with women and children centered. It's an AI Academy grounded in powerful community, hosting a free event every Saturday for women to gather and learn and share around AI.
Anne brings 35 years in fundraising and roles in successful campaigns totaling more than $10 billion. She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Leisure Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and approaches the field as a practitioner-scholar.
Her work includes major and principal gifts, fundraising campaign feasibility, campaign strategy, and facilities fundraising.
Don brings fundraising communications and marketing expertise to campaign strategy. He holds a B.S. in Sports Administration from the University of Toledo, with an emphasis on marketing and communication, and an MBA in Marketing from Oregon State University.
He and Anne co-founded MOXXEE, relationship-based fundraising software built by fundraisers for fundraisers.
Kate works across Empowered Fundraiser, She Leads AI, and MOXXEE. She develops MOXXEE, our relationship-based fundraising software, and works across product development and the systems that support its use.
She runs marketing campaigns across all three brands, including communications and graphic design. She also produces podcasts and other media and plans and executes events from concept through delivery.
Her work connects software development with the marketing, creative, and operational work required to move ideas into the world.
