DONOR VISITS 2.0

SCHEDULE + FACILITATE + FOLLOW UP + SCALE

Hi! I'm Anne Murphy. Founder and CEO, Empowered Fundraiser

I'm 25 years into my career as a happy fundraiser-turned-educator, coach, and course creator.

When I retired from my role as a senior leader in higher Ed fundraising this year, it was to pour

my expertise back into the industry--

I'm here for fundraisers.

I'm a ride-or-die mentor and coach to major gift officers charged with closing six- seven-

and eight- figure gifts for top priorities. My expertise translates to my students' mindset mastery,

superior fundraising skillset, and leadership from wherever they are.

Philanthropy is changing FAST. You and I need to adapt our fundraising FASTER. I teach

what's relevant, equitable and effective today because we don't have time for the industry to catch up.

You are poised to make a positive impact on the world while building a rewarding career and I'm so here for it.

Let's work together to lead our colleagues into a new era of major gift fundraising.

Why Did I Create This Course?

  • Out of frustration with learning and development opportunities that translated from a conference/webinar to real life.

  • I saw a tectonic shift in donor behavior. After being home for months upon months, folks became accustomed to Zoom events/meetings and asynchronous communication.

  • It was time. It was just time to get rid of the friction we'd created over the years in our industry.

  • We'd made it so that donors had to make a huge effort to discuss a gift with us--namely, put on pants, drive to meet us, give us their undivided attention, and then reschedule everything they were supposed to be doing at that time.

  • It took me 25 years to figure it out. I want to pour that into you so you can go further, faster, without falling prey to hustle culture.

Why Cohort Based Courses?

  • I don't know about you, but I pretty much stopped REALLY learning things when my life turned into a series of Zoom monologues. I wanted more for myself--and for my students.

  • Cohort-based courses allow me to be super engaged with you. It's a two-way learning experience.

  • I LOVE connecting awesome colleagues with one another. You'll meet people who you adore and who will help you future-proof your career (and vice-versa)

  • The fast pace is bliss for people with short attention spans (like most development officers!)

  • I love that I can support you asynchronously as well. You'll watch videos and have reading assignments between classes, and you can tackle those when your schedule allows.

Course Outcomes:

  • Secure truly effective donor conversations (what we used to call “visits”);

  • Set the table for open, honest conversation focused on philanthropy;

  • Facilitate outcomes-based convos to optimize that time with donors;

  • Follow-up with a strong call to action and accountability;

  • Scale these steps to your whole portfolio.

A PREVIEW OF MY APPROACH TO DONOR VISITS

THIS IS FOR YOU IF:

You work on metrics.

It's a heavy lift to book your calendar with visits

You have good visits, but your proposals are laggging

Your follow up is more like a series of pings

You're awesome at working with one donor at a time....

but you have a big portfolio

You're a little burned out

FAQ

What is a Cohort Based Course and Why Should I Care?

The power of cohort-based courses lies in the accountability, live interactions, small group learning via breakout rooms, chat, silent writing, avalanches, popcorn, and everything other than me droning at you. I facilitate lots of "state changes" to keep things clipping along and avoid Zoom Zombie effect. I cannot even tell you how much I adore my besties from cohort-based courses I've taken myself! I graduated from Wes Kao's Accelerator program--MAVEN--in October along with 120 other elite experts in our fields. Maven is the epicenter of research on how adults really learn. I was trained by the best in the business.

Will My Employer Reimburse Me? Probably!

It's likely. Here is a form you can use to request reimbursement:

FAQ image

Can I Watch Replays Instead of Attending?

This is TBD, but the magic of a cohort based course is in group interaction. We don't recommend planning to take this as an asynchronous course.

FAQ image

Can I Get 1:1 Support from Anne?

I'm happy to do brief 1:1check ins with my students! Deeper work is via the Empower Hour program.

FAQ image

Is There a Guarantee?

Yes. If you show up authentically and put in the effort, and you are unsatisfied with your outcomes, we'll talk about next steps. I may offer you 1:1 time, supplementary information, invitations to co-working sessions or a refund. We'll work together on this.
